You can Enjoy a free, outdoor concert with the historic, South Carolina State House as the background, followed by a midnight countdown and a fantastic New Year's Eve fireworks show.

Music Schedule Lineup includes:
Ms. Lauryn Hill “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” swept 5 Grammys for album of the year, best new artist, best female R & B performance, best R & B song and best R & B album, and it was the first hip-hop record to win album of the year. Ms. Hill also became the first woman or hip-hop artist to win five Grammys.

SUSTO - Homegrown band that brings a vintage Southern sound from Charleston.

ColorBlind - Columbia's own folk hop /roots rap group.

Dead 27s - will be kicking off the nightlong concert, with their soulful, alt-Americana vibes from the Holy City.

Fireworks - come and enjoy the largest New Year’s Eve fireworks display in the Carolina's. At midnight as we all ring in the new year, shells of different sizes and effects from around the globe will be launched via computer to create this fantastic show. The fireworks soar upward of 500 feet in the sky above the South Carolina State House. Some of the best seats in the house will be on Main and Gervais.

In addition to the Fireworks and Live Entertainment there is:

• WOW New Year’s Eve Carnival for kids with carnival rides, games, face painters by City of Columbia Parks & Recreation

• Main St. skating rink on Boyd Plaza, in front of the Columbia Museum of Art
